American Insurance Training, Inc., sometimes called (A.I.T.), is a family owned and operated Insurance Pre Licensing and Continuing Education Training School located in Memphis, Tennessee. American Insurance Training, Inc. is approved by the Insurance Departments in the states of Tennessee and Mississippi for Insurance Pre Licensing and Continuing Education Training.

American Insurance Training, Inc. offers Insurance Pre Licensing Training for the following lines of insurance in the states of Tennessee and Mississippi by providing classroom training for the number of credit hours which are required in order to be certified to take the state insurance license exam in the student’s state of residence. Classroom Certification is obtained by class attendance for the required number of hours and not by passing a final exam.

American Insurance Training, Inc. was incorporated in Memphis, Tennessee in June 1990, by its founder and present president,Dewey C. Wilson, CLU. Dewey is active in the business as President, a Pre Licensing and Continuing Education Course writer and a Pre Licensing Class Instructor.

The business is managed by Steve Wilson, Vice President, and son of Dewey.
Steve entered the insurance training business in 1992. He manages the office and is responsible for enrollments and maintaining continuing education records. He also sends certification notifications to Pearson vue/Promissor who downloads the CE credits to the state.

Instructors
Wayne A. Lawrence, CLU, who started in the insurance business in 1956, and retired several years ago teaches the Life and Health weekend classes and has been teaching for American Insurance Training since 1992.

James W. Joyner, LUTCF, teaches the weekday Life and Health classes. Jim, who is now retired, started in the insurance business in 1956. He has been teaching for American Insurance Training for over 12 years. Both pre licensing instructors are well trained and have excellent passing records and have been praised by many of our students for the excellent work they do.
